General Information



At registration you will receive a program,
t-shirt, drawstring bag and the opportunity to sign up for the Corn Hole Tournament.


Registration Fees:

Adults: $25
Students (12th grade and lower): $15
Virtual Walker (unable to attend): $10
Children (5 years and younger): FREE


Is Registration Required:

Yes, we ask both adults and students to register for our event as well as consider making a personal donation to Mattie Miracle. This commitment helps us continue the work we do to assist children with cancer and their families on both the local and national levels.


Where Do The Funds Go:

All funds raised go to supporting the Mattie Miracle Child Life Program Fund at local hospitals, to supply a free snack/item cart at both MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and Children's Hospital at Sinai in Baltimore, and to implement the recently published National Psychosocial Standards of Care for childhood cancer. Mattie Miracle Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)3 Public Charity and all donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.


Specifically here are examples of how contributions are used by Mattie Miracle:


$100: Fun craft or holiday activity for 10 children with cancer and their siblings

$500: Annual magazine subscriptions and books for children and teens in the hospital

$1,000: Stock free snack cart for two months for families caring for children who are hospitalized at Georgetown Hospital and Children's Hospital at Sinai

$5,000: Pediatric support group for healthcare professionals for a year

$10,000: Annual early investigator implementation research grant and award

$40,000: Child life specialist (part time) who assists 3,500 children a year

$50,000: Supports 7 implementation research grants a year

Please dress appropriately for sun or rain.


Don't be afraid to dress up!!

Teams are judged on their creativity and team spirit. Therefore team members are encouraged to dress (in a family friendly manner) in a style that captures their team's identity and spirit.

Lunch & Treats:

Food is provided by local vendors: DC Empanadas, The Big Cheese, Rocklands, and Hershey's Ice Cream. A percentage of food and beverage sales goes to Mattie Miracle.


Walk & Challenge Wall:

Walk as an individual or part of a team!!! Come help us fill the "Challenge Wall!" With each lap you take around the track you will earn a colorful cup to place in the chain link challenge wall. Once the wall is filled.... we have met our challenge! Which means, the closer we are to funding our new initiative to create a psychological referrals program for children with cancer.  This referrals program will enable Mattie Miracle to connect qualified clinicians with children who have cancer and their families. The program will be designed to support the mental health needs of families as well as fund access to these services.   



Raffle tickets  can be purchased on-line or on the day of the event. All raffle baskets are displayed at the RAFFLE TENT located on the Astroturf. Raffle winners will be announced at 2pm on May 19th. You do not need to be present to win. 



Individual walkers and team members can raise funds for our cause! It is easy! When you register, you will automatically be given access to your own fundraising page which can be shared through email and social media sites. Top individual and team fundraisers will be awarded prizes on the day of the event. 



Prizes will be awarded during event.  Categories include:

  •  Individual Awards:
    • Top Adult Fundraiser
    • Top Teen Fundraiser
  • Walk Team Awards:
    • Top Team Fundraiser (funds raised by May 11)
    • Team with largest number of registered walkers by May 11
    • Team with most cups in challenge walk
    • Team Spirit Award

The family festival is open throughout the event, 10:00am to 2:00pm. The following is available:
